Wheel Torque & Retorquing

Jun 11, 2013

It is necessary to torque all your wheel nuts every time the wheel is removed to make sure they are not are too loose. Loose nuts could become a hazard by falling off due to vibrations while driving.  Also, brake rotors are known to warp due to unevenly torqued wheels.

Over-tightened nuts can damage stud threads or break the fasteners and make it a pain to get the wheel off on the side of the road if you get a flat tire. When we install wheels or tires, you should come back for your free re-torque after about 20 km to ensure proper fastening.
